Besom or broom Workshop
The definition of Besom is “a broom made of twigs tied around a stick”! This workshop will be a little more detailed and creative . In this class you will have a Pinot Noir Handle and the brush will be made from Carl Foerster grasses harvested from within the Okanagan valley.
This broom can be functional or for decoration- ready to fly away to your home at the end of the day!

Woven wire Deer
This 2 day workshop is for returning students who have already learnt how to weave a quail a goose and or chicken.
An armature provides structure and stability to a sculpture and you will learn how to make a 3 dimensional wire deer that stands 90cm high and 60 cm long.
Annabel will teach you how to create the one dimensional design and take you on a journey to having your own 3 dimensional piece of art that you can wrap lights around and light up those long dark winters.

Geese and Chickens
This workshop is for students who have made a quail in a previous class. The initial part of the day is making a wire Armature that creates the structure of the bird that you choose to make and the second part is to weave their bodies with Willow harvested from Annabel’s property.
The Workshop is held outside Annabel’s Studio in West Kelowna overlooking her 2 acre vineyard, the Okanagan valley and the surrounding mountains including Big White Mountain.
Be prepared for all weather, so dress in layers and bring gardening gloves, a hat and lunch.

Miniature Basket workshop
Look around you , so many common fibres to weave with for example rhubarb, corn husks, dandelions and birch bark.
Join Annabel Stanley , local Okanagan fibre artist ,to learn about the harvesting and weaving of miniature baskets that will enchant you and get you hooked !

Rope Basket Weaving
Walk into the local hardware store and look at the wonderful material you can weave with!! This is a great workshop to learn some new skills when the weather or the growing season limits weaving with natural fibre gleaned from the forest and lakeside.

As winter approaches we start to decorate our homes for the Holidays.

Perhaps a flat screen to create a natural message board or to separate for privacy.

QUAIL WEAVING WORKSHOP
Annabel has designed a unique Quail sculpture that represents the Okanagan valley, where the California quail love to run through the vineyards and gardens.
Learn to design and make a wire armature (frame) and then weave with willow.
Returning students can learn more complex designs under Annabel’s knowledgeable tuition.

HEART WEAVING WORKSHOP
The art of weaving a heart starts with Annabel teaching how to create the armature (frame) and then depending on size weaving with Vine canes from her vineyard or willow for smaller sculptures.
The workshops are held in her studio in West Kelowna overlooking her vineyard of Pinot Noir grapes and across the valley to views of the mountain ranges including Big White Mountain.
This workshop can be an option when a sphere workshop is offered.

BASKET WEAVING
orAnnabel Stanley offers a fun and creative day of weaving baskets from locally foraged materials that grow here in the Okanagan. They include Willow, Dogwood, Alder, Grape vines, grasses, moss and other “foraged finds”.

SPHERE WEAVING WORKSHOP
The initial part of this workshop teaches the art to making a wire armature, this is the frame that will give structure to the sphere that will be woven with Pinot Noir grape vines from Annabel’s 2 acre vineyard.
The day will be held outside Annabel’s studio overlooking the Okanagan valley towards the surrounding mountains including Big White Mountain.
Wear long pants to avoid scratching your legs, sunscreen, gardening gloves and a hat or warm clothing if the weather is changeable .
